Rebuilt a legacy data API that cut load times from 45 minutes to under a second.
Supported technical due diligence during two successful funding rounds at Healios, including a multi-million-pound raise. I've been on both sides of the table.
Grew the Healios engineering team from 2 developers to a full team covering backend, frontend, AI research, QA and support. Hired well, then got out of the way.
Delivered projects for Vodafone, Toyota and HP at 1minus1. Large clients, real stakes, consistent delivery.

Leadership Experience
Technical Team Lead / Engineering Manager
Managed multiple engineering teams and made sure the technical work actually connected to what the business needed.
- Led several team leads across different product areas
- Built a RESTful API that cut data load times from 45 minutes to under a second
- Drove a full refactor of the legacy database architecture
- Mentored developers at all levels and ran regular knowledge sharing
- Worked directly with the executive team on the technical roadmap
Chief Technology Officer
Joined as the first technical hire and built everything from scratch: team, architecture, process, culture.
- Grew the team from 2 developers to a full unit covering backend, frontend, AI R&D, QA and support
- Supported two successful funding rounds, including a multi-million-pound raise
- Built the core platform in Ruby on Rails with TDD throughout
- Worked closely with the CEO and board on security, strategy and technical direction

Started as a senior developer and worked up to Technical Director over 8 years, leading client projects across a range of industries.

LLMs have genuinely changed what's possible in a short development cycle. I've been integrating these APIs into products since they became accessible, and there's real value to be unlocked when it's done thoughtfully rather than bolted on for the sake of it.
